Dire, Fare, Filmare (Say, Do, Film) is an artistic documentation project born from the ‘Controcampo’ video production workshop at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome.

From March to May 2025, classroom 8B at Campo Boario was transformed into an intimate and welcoming lounge, where second-year Photography and Video students met with five contemporary artists: Lucia Bricco, Giulio Bensasson, Iginio De Luca, Thomas Valerio, and Francesca Cornacchini.

Each artist participated in two sessions, both documented by the students. The first session explored the artist’s creative journey and their approach to documenting their work, while in the second, each artist presented a performance created specifically for the project.

These sessions resulted in five videos—one for each artist—where words and gestures intertwine to form a unified audiovisual narrative: Dire, Fare, Filmare.

The project was conceived and coordinated by laboratory technicians Alessio Rucchetta, Valerio Sammartino, and Simone Nazzareno Valente, and produced by the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome in collaboration with Monkeys Video Lab.
